Quick start: your first questionnaire in 15 minutes

The fastest path from a blank workspace to a completed, exported questionnaire

    1. Build a starting knowledge base

RFI Know answers questions by reusing what your organization already knows, so give it something to work with first:

    • Go to Knowledge Base and upload your policy and procedure documents (PDF, Word, TXT, or CSV).
    • If you have a questionnaire you've already completed elsewhere, upload it on the Upload page and choose Completed questionnaire — every question-and-answer pair is added to your answer library.

You can skip this step and come back to it, but answers get dramatically better once the knowledge base has real content.

    2. Upload the questionnaire you need to answer

    • Go to Upload and choose New questionnaire.
    • Select your Excel (.xlsx, .xls) or CSV file — up to 25MB.
    • Pick which sheets to import and map the columns (which column holds the questions, and optionally categories or existing partial answers).

    3. Let the platform answer what it can

Open the questionnaire and click Auto-fill. It answers every question it can by matching against your past answers and knowledge base. Each question also shows its best individual matches, and for questions with no good match you can use Draft with AI to generate an answer grounded in your documents — with citations to the sources it used.

    4. Review and finish

    • Work through the answers, starting with the low-confidence ones (they're flagged).
    • Edit anything that needs your voice, and mark questions complete as you go.
    • Assign tricky questions to teammates if you've invited any.

    5. Export

Click Export to download the finished questionnaire as Excel (preserving the original layout), CSV, or a ZIP bundle that includes attachments. Send it off — and note that every answer you finalized is now part of your library for next time.
